This squirrel monkey is the cutest!!

Have you ever wanted to see Monkey’s up close and engage with them? I have!! When I heard about Monkey Jungle it was added to my MUST DO activities! If you are in Miami you HAVE to check it out!

Monkey Jungle is a one of a kind  wildlife park and discovery center established in 1935  in a natural subtropical forest in southern Miami-Dade County. The Jungle wildlife live there much as they would in their native habitats. Visitors, students and scientists experience unique up close encounters with these amazing creatures in Miami's natural 30-acre Jungle park.

You can put food in these little dishes and the monkeys pull it up and grab it out!

What should you expect from this Monkey experience?

Although there are 30 acres of jungle there is a small area to actually walk around. You will walk through and be greeted by several species of monkeys who know that us humans are ready to see them and feed them! You can purchase raisins and craisins to be able to put in little dishes/tubes that will then be delivered to your little friend who would love a snack! Know that all these monkeys are considered wild and may bite if you stick your fingers through the fence.

Meet King and learn about his personality!

There were 3 shows available at different times throughout the day to allow you to see

· King, their gorilla and see him interact with his keepers

· Java Macaques to see them wade into the pond for treats. If you're lucky...you'll see them skin dive!

· Monkey Jungle’s Amazonian Rainforest--the only semi-natural tropical rainforest in North America where you will be greeted by squirrel monkeys and black-capped capuchins

If you want to actually get up close and personal with the monkeys and have them eat right from your hand then you need to sign up for the Rainforest Adventure Tour! Explorers on this special adventure are immersed in a 4 acre natural habitat filled with monkeys. Your Jungle Guide brings to life the wonders of the Rainforest and its amazing creatures. Experience up close encounters with a troop of squirrel monkeys or the greeting from a capuchin monkey.

A couple tips to have the best experience:

· Schedule your tour experience prior to arrival to be sure there is enough space and you must be on time

· Wear bug spray

· There is a little concession on property or you could bring your own water/snacks (don’t feed your snacks to the little friends)

· Closed toe shoes isn’t necessary but I would recommend

If you head to Monkey Jungle please report back and let me know about your experience!!
